The economic, social, cultural rights of migrant children in the European Union: application is open until Monday, June 13, for the Summer School promoted by the Sant'Anna School, for the Jean Monnet MARS module with the support of the EU Erasmus+ Program

The Summer School “Economic, Social and Cultural Rights of Migrant Children in the European Union”, organised by the Sant'Anna School within the framework of the Jean Monnet module MARS "Migration, Asylum and Rights of Minors" with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, will run online from 22 to 30 June 2022.

The course, with a total duration of 40 hours, is addressed to professionals (civil servants, lawyers, consultants, legal operators, tutors), academicsPhDsstudents who wish to acquire a comprehensive understanding on the rights of migrant children and/or update their skills and knowledge. Thanks to Italian and international experts and jurists, the Summer School will offer to the participants an in-depth analysis of immigrationasylum and children's rights with particular reference to the rights to healthsocial assistancehousingchild developmenteducation and religion. Among the most pressing challenges to the full respect of migrant children’s rights, the course will address human trafficking and smuggling, educational poverty, climate change, and children's rights in the digital space.

During the lectures, the most relevant issues arising from the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, the 2021 EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child and the 2022 Council of Europe Strategy on the Rights of the Child will be discussed by adopting a participatory approach aimed at fostering debate and analysis of case studies.

There will be a discount for those who enroll by 31 May 2022 as well as 7 scholarships for international protection beneficiaries in light of the adhesion of the Sant'Anna School to the “Manifesto dell’Università Inclusiva” promoted by UNHCR.
